Walking one day we ran into some young boys selling whistles hand-carved from reeds. One little boy held out a whistle and said, “One Yuan.” Before I could open my mouth, he said, “Two for one Yuan. OK, three for one Yuan.” He was just beginning to hone his bargaining skills.
